The founder of CS International, Mike Carnell, began his career in the Continuous Improvement disciplines in the early 1980’s while employed at Motorola. Mike Carnell has been continuously involved in the deployment of continuous improvement as a trainer and facilitator since the Allied Signal (Honeywell) deployment in 1995. He was also retained in 1996 by General Electric Corporate, reporting to Gary Reiner, Chief Information Officer and Executive Sponsor for the General Electric deployment.
It was the involvement in these benchmark deployments at Motorola, Allied Signal and General Electric that forged the unique deployment strategy used by CS International. Companies strived to develop a “recipe” for continuous improvement. Keeping in mind Dr. Deming’s admonishment in his quote “There is no such thing as instant pudding” CS International has alternatively developed an interactive deployment strategy that accounts for differences in company cultures and strategies. Our success with this approach has been validated in award winning deployments and financial benefits verified in third party audits.
CS International does not begin an engagement with a prepackaged deployment strategy. Time is spent with company executives in the beginning of a deployment to develop alignment between the company and the deployment. It is that alignment that is critical to program success. The strategy sessions are followed by a design team that involves not only the facilitators and trainers from CS International but client personnel as well. The output of that team is a deployment plan that is unique to the company’s vision, strategy and culture.
CS International’s objective is to deliver a program that not only meets the strategic goals of the company but provides knowledge transfer to the client. It is the knowledge transfer of more than just tools. It is the understanding of the strategy in the use of the tools that enables clients to develop stand alone capability in a very short period of time.
It has never been the goal of CS international to serve the “production line continuous improvement community.” We engage with clients committed to creating business excellence through a co-developed improvement strategy and personalized service from the CS International staff of trainers and facilitators all of whom have long histories of success in the application of continuous improvement methodologies.International is a full-service Six Sigma and Lean
